Dr. Mark Gigliotti DVM
Dr. Mark graduated from Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1980. While in Veterinary School, he was the president of the student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association. Dr Gigliotti also earned a B.S. in agriculture with a minor in nutrition.
He enjoyed sports while at Elyria Catholic High School lettering in Football and track. As a boy, he grew up on his parent's farm in Vermillion raising horses, cattle, sheep and chickens. On the weekends and summers he would work at his Father and Uncle's veterinary hospital. In 2003, after being in practice for 23 years, Dr. Mark was able to purchase Amherst Animal Hospital From his Father and Uncle.
Dr. Mark met his wife, Mary, during the summer of 1980. They got married in 1982 and now have 5 wonderful children, Matthew, Christine, Lauren, Ju Yen, and Elise. Their family includes "Heidi" a poodle mix and "Hooie" an independent, long haired tabby cat.
He enjoys clinical medicine and surgery and has a special interest in orthopedic surgery and dentistry. Dr. Mark takes in exclusively small animal patients, including exotics (birds, reptiles, amphibians and pocket pets).
Dr. Kristin Yacobozzi DVM
Dr. Kristin has been with us since graduating from the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She became a partner of the practice in 2012. She did her undergraduate studies at The University of Findlay where she received a Bachelor of Science, majoring in chemistry with a minor in biology.
Dr. Kristin grew up in Tallmadge, Ohio. Her childhood hobbies included riding and showing horses as well as playing basketball. Dr. Kristin met her husband, Matthew, at Amherst Animal Hospital in 2007. He brought his Golden Retriever, "Bella", in for her puppy vaccines and well, the rest is history ☺
Dr. Kristin has three doggy companions which have unofficially crowned themselves mascots of Amherst Animal Hospital. "Jackson" is a Bernese Mountain Dog, as well as his son "Elliott" and daughter "Movado". She also owns two cats "Willie" and "Gracie".
She is an active member in The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine Alumni Association and The Ohio Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Kristin's special interests in veterinary medicine include soft tissue and ophthalmic surgeries, ophthalmology and internal medicine.
Angie Bronson started at the hospital in October of 2007. She became our Practice Manager in August 2010. She enjoys coaching soccer, horseback riding, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren. She is the proud owner of two rescue dogs, "Gibson" a Pitbull Mix, and "Kenzie" a mix breed as well as two cats, "Milo" and "Oscar".
Brittany Alemane has been with us since July of 2005. Brittany currently works as both a receptionist and lab technician. She enjoys horseback riding, is an avid reader, and watches endless amounts of movies. She has a dog, "Una", a rescued American Staffordshire Terrier, two Sphynx cats, "Rowena" & "Salazar", as well as an African Grey named Neera.
Kalin Weber started at AAH in February of 2013. She is a prior Sergeant from the U.S. Marine Corps. and is Registered Veterinary Technician. She enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott, running with her dogs, "Gyspy" & Nova" and snuggling with her two cats, "Doctor Evil" & "Frankie".
Valerie Hernandez is a Registered Veterinary Technician who started at AAH in March of 2014. She graduated from Tri-C in 2002 and has been in the field since 1998. She loves spending time with her Siberian Husky, "Meia", cat, "Cleopatra" red ear slider turtle, "Kitty" and her family and friends.
Candi Roach started at AAH in March of 2013. She is a Registered Veternary Technician. She lives in Vermilion with her husband, Bill and their rescued animals: three DSH cats: "Cole", "Lita", "Zuul", one dog, "Sheba" and a rabbit, "Gary". She enjoys spending time with family & friends, reading & gardening.
Tammy Lewis started at AAH in August of 2000. She originally started working in the hospital kennel area. Tammy now works in Grooming. She likes biking with her husband, Russ, and spending time with her two daughters and grandkids. She is the proud owner of "Marlow", a Jack Russell Terrier as well as two cats, "Moochie" & "Darla".
